ADVANTAGES AND APPLICATION

The new Morse floor-mounted electric pedal is designed to suit all on-highway (trucks and buses), off-highway (construction equipment, ground airport vehicles), and tractor applications with electronic controlled engines.

Advanced design of the polymer floor mounted foot pedal, provides an analogue signal proportional to the angular movement of the treadle.

''Ergonomic design'' uses glass filled nylon for a robust, low weight, and corrosion resistant assembly.

There is a choice of potentiometers to accommodate different engines requirements. An integral idle validation and/or kick-down feature is available.

DESIGN AND FUNCTION

E.F.P. has a dual spring design for mechanical redundancy.

To make installation and adjustment of the floor mounted pedal easier, the sensor bracket and treadle can be moved together to get the best angle position from the treadle. Five different positions every 6 degrees, allows treadle angle adjustment from 30° to 65°.

The sensor is mounted in a fixed position, avoiding fatigue of wires and connections, giving a longer life and more reliable operation of the sensor.

Our foot pedal and sensor design meets Euro 2 and 3, FMVSS and SAE specifications.

Four M8 securing bolts are required and compression-limiters are provided to permit normal wrench torque settings.

The pedal assembly requires no maintenance. For maximum corrosion-resistance, the treadle overhangs the supporting structure and has smooth sides so that dirt is shed away from the interior.

The pivot pin runs in nylon bushes of proven durability for maximum life. All metal components are corrosion-resistant. The load-bearing mouldings are made from glass-filled Zytel, a polymer widely used for similar applications in the automotive industry. It is self-extinguishing to V0 rating.

The pedal assembly including the potentiometer, is environmentally resistant to IP66.
