Hindle Controls can supply any cable system for tractor transmission control.

Two major tractor ranges from Morse Controls use specially developed high load cables for the three principle gear shift operations on tractors, namely forward neutral and reverse, main gear selector and range change.

The advantages of cables are fully utilised in these applications, namely:

Shift unaffected by cab movements
Ability to route cables through small apertures and tight places
Reduced in-cab noise
Low installation costs, (in some cases complete assembled system can be supplied)
Low wear rates, reduced rattles and simplified adjustment procedures

The true value of ''push pull'' cables is fully exploited in tractor shift applications particularly where suspended cabs are used. The current arrangement usually employs a massive gear shift tower cantilevered from the gearbox to carry the gear shift mechanism up into the cab where cab movements can cause unwanted lever movements and gear jump-out.

In two typical applications, the shift tower has been replaced by cable shift where the operating linkage has been mounted on the cab structure and the shift levers on the transmission controlled by specially developed high load cables.

Because of the relatively close proximity of the shifter units to the transmission the cables have to have exceptional flexibility and compact mounting arrangements with respect to their load carrying ability.
